Ch. 5-Taming the Demon and Light Trainer’s Training

Light Trainer woke up in a good mood, until she felt something was wrong with Kyo. She looked over to him and saw there were tears running down his face, as if he was crying in his sleep all night. What she didn't notice at that moment was the ring still clutched in his hand.

She decided to gently shake him to wake him up again, just incase she would scare him. "Hey Kyo? Wake up. You O.K?"

It was a terrible night for Kyo. And despite L.T trying to not scare him, he still awoke abruptly. With that, his eyes shot open and realized-he was still with L.T.

"Hmm? Yeah…I’m fine."

He sat up and wiped his eyes, and yawned quietly. He forgot that the ring is still in his hands.

L.T jumped back a bit when he woke, but then asked, “Are you sure? You looked like you were crying the whole night. Did you do something while I was asleep?”

"N-no!" Kyo said…lying knowingly.

But what could he say? L.T knows nothing about Catrina. He sighed and looked at her. "I'll tell you about it later..."

Another tear came to his eye now remembering what he saw. But this time, he looked away and into his bag to prepare breakfast to hide any emotions he had.

She said nothing as he prepared to make breakfast. She noticed they had a little more food than they did yesterday.

*He must have gone back home and got more food for us last night,* she thought to herself. *But where else did he go to be this sad and somewhat distant from me?*

Then another thought came into her head: the picture of him and the female cat she saw earlier that week! *Did he go to see her and saw or done something he regrets now? I’ll ask him after breakfast so we can concentrate better with today’s training and special demon taming lesson.*

He ate rather quietly and wasn't as much of a pig (like they are after training) this time. Even though he was feeling down, he still isn't the type to stop eating because something is bothering him. And he could tell that he still can focus…somewhat with tons of stress and emotional torture on his back.

Unless of course, its Vincent talking about his mom.

Kyo finished up his own breakfast and stood up to stretch, and prepare for training.

L.T noticed something was in his hand, and it suddenly clicked in what it was.

“Kyo, did you go to get that ring Zero was looking for last night, as well as the extra food?”

Kyo just now remembered he got the ring; he nodded. "Yeah…I did."

With that, Kyo couldn't help but to be slightly short with L.T. His emotions are starting to get to him. He took his stand at the side of the battlefield he would be using his spells at.

L.T did join him on her side, but not to start training yet. She had a couple of questions in mind and hopefully it will give her the answers she needed.

“Where was the ring this whole time and was that the place that caused you this depression? Please tell me incase Zero finds out.”

"We need to train fast L.T."

With his heart being unstable, he had a hard time telling her what’s really going on with him.

"L.T…Zero knows we have the ring now. That, I can't easily explain. He probably detected my emotions and the energy from the backwards blast the ring had…when I got it from Catrina."

Kyo already said it. Now she knows. And it made no point for him to stop now. "L.T…I gave her the ring. The ring has a water power…but it was also passed down from my mom. It's also known, well…between me and my mom…as the ring of love. It is also connected to me and whoever wears it."

"So this Catrina…she found someone else and it hurt you, am I right?"

He nodded and L.T fell silent, but for only a moment when she figured out he still loved her with only one thing.

"And you took the ring back to protect her and to keep it from Zero before the day came for us to fight him on order to protect it."

Then she smiled at Kyo before adding, "Kyo…you are stronger than you think."

"Yeah…but I didn't do that out of love. In all honesty, after seeing that…well, sight- I actually debated to let zero kill her. Just because I don't love though doesn't mean I don't care."

Kyo sighed and noticed L.T's smile. He managed to shrug alot of the feelings off for now and focused more on the training. "L.T, remember. After you do these last spells-it will be your turn to train."

With that, he backed up and went on his own side of the battlefield-exhaling the entire negative out in order to focus.

L.T, on the other hand remembered what today was for. And not only her training day.

“You’re forgetting something aren’t you? We are actually going to tame that inner demon of yours, remember?”

Kyo's eyes shot open instantly from his meditation to focus. "..."

He sighed, relieved. "We can’t. It doesn't come out until the moon changes."

She smacked her face out of disbelief. She knew that, but she also knew a way for him to do it mentally.

"Kyo, Kyo, Kyo…I think it's time for you to meet my own special friend in order for this to work: my own inner demon, Demonica. All I need you to do is close your eyes, open your mind, and listen to her voice. Since the moon isn't at the right point right now for a physical taming, we'll have to settle for a mental one, O.K?"

Kyo was still a bit weary. What if something went wrong? Well, he'd have to try and overcome it. But he couldn't shake a gut and sense feeling that something is going to go wrong.

With a quiet whimper, he agreed. He closed his eyes again- standing still and arms direct. He focused on his mind, and let himself open up. He also relaxed himself as he normally does when he meditates to focus more on what he's suppose to do.

When she felt his mind open for Demonica to enter and help him, she muttered something under her breath and an unusual black aura came from her body and surrounded him.

“Kyo if you can hear my voice,” L.T called out, “Keep your eyes closed and listen to Demonica. She was a Demon Queen before she became bound to me so she’ll know what to do to help you. Don’t worry, she’s kind and wise as she is powerful.”

Kyo obeyed L.T and kept his mind closed. He dared not to think to keep his mind open until what needed to be done is done.

"How long in your mind are you going to keep your eyes closed Kyo? She only meant outside of it."

Kyo jumped at the voice and turned around to see another kitsune that looked like L.T but she had no glasses or earring, was wearing a simple brown hoodless cloak, had wings the same colour as her fur come from her back, and had bright-green slit-pupil eyes. Her voice had sort of a slight British accent with kindness and wisdom to it.

"Allow me to introduce myself as your demon-taming mentor. I am Demonica, the former Queen of Demons from my world."

She looked around, "I must say you have an interesting way of decoration in here."

Kyo couldn’t believe his eyes. Or in this case, Mind. He was, as it appeared to be, inside his own complex head. Around him was such marvelous things, inventions he gave up a long time ago. Even items from memories he now can’t remember. There was no sky, but a pale purple brilliancy upwards.

"Er…Demon-tamer?" he asked.

He was obviously confused, and curious at once.

"And what am I suppose to do, as well as how?"

"Well simply put we have to find the demon in your mind and I will instruct you on taming it. It won't be that hard to find though, if we know where to look or if it finds us."

She soon sensed what they were looking for coming up from behind them. "Speaking of which, here it comes."

"Who you calling, 'it'?" Said the person behind Kyo in a snide voice. Kyo jumped around in surprise, and seen it looked just like him. There were exceptions. The wear was exactly what Zero was wearing. The fangs were sticking out even more. And the eyes-both of them were drained of color except the center itself.

"…"

He couldn't believe his eyes.

This isn't what Kyo thought.

He thought his demon was his untamed self…not this.

With that, he sensed something wasn't right.

"Hmm…I apologize for not stating the right gender."

She whispered into Kyo's ear, "Listen to me, the first step into taming your demon, and hopefully befriend him like my mistress has with me, is that you must not show fear. If you do, you will give him more strength and soon he will be impossible to tame and you'll have to be destroyed in order for the same fate to fall onto him."

Kyo nodded, but his hope was busted.

"Hello. Do you not see I am right here? Nothing you can tell Mr. Shiomi here is hidden from me." The demon replied.

Something clicked in Kyo.

Everywhere, in short bursts-like a complete sensual movie. Memories appear…but not have many memories. Of a certain memory.

It was graduation day for Kyo.

"Oh, Raku. NOW I know." Kyo said.

"So you do know. Maybe you aren’t as dumb as I suspected" 'Raku' replied.

Kyo's memory shook up to a point to where he knew what was going on. "Raku...Listen to me. The past is the past."

"No. No it isn't. Not when you have to live with it every day." Raku smirked, but inside he had some anger himself.

Demonica floated nearby and watched the two wolves quietly; curious to see how Kyo will show courage to this Raku in order for him to be tamed.

"You don't HAVE to live with it. You can just forget it!"

"No!" Raku replied angrily. "Did you forget? is that why it’s not so painful?"

The memories consumed everyone and they saw, and felt, with their own eyes and feelings of what’s going on.

It was a few years ago, a younger Kyo was first spotted in sight. The memory began right after he got his diploma and threw up his tassel in a school full of humans-being the only one different. But there were a few people besides him when he left the auditorium.

"Congrats, Kyo!" Said a female with long brown hair besides him.

"Yeah, Didn't think Inuyasha could pass school" Snickered a kid named Herbert.

"Oh stop picking on him." Said yet another female by Kyo's side.

"Joy, your always trying to ruin the fun"

In that instant, the intercom turned on.

+Attention Students and teachers alike! We would like to announce the class with the winning amount of points for 12th Grade. Purple Team has a total of 412 points. Their class VIP is Shauna Crowne! For Red Team, they have a total of 435 points with their VIP being Herbert Baker! (Kyo and the group congratulated Herbert) and the Yellow Team LEADS with 468 points, their VIP being Mya! (The group congratulated the brown haired girl)+

Demonica continued to watch, finding something that will help with her mentoring to Kyo. Little did he know, Light Trainer was watching everything through her demon’s eyes, just to make sure everything went all right.

+Congratulations everyone! and Congratulations Yellow team! Please exit out to Lab 1. Everyone else may go out to the Playfield in the back campus, or to Lab 2! Lastly. We want to give out the School VIP to, Kyo Shiomi! For most contributions to help our school. He's helped our school grow and connect more than before we had him as a student. Everyone, Carry on.+

Next thing Kyo knew, everyone in the hall rushed to him and picked him up, carrying him to Lab 1-and hearing them chant his name.

Many would love this, but this made Kyo blush and feel quite shy. "H-Hey!"

Herbert told Kyo to shut up and enjoy the ride. and of course, Joy smacked him-though HB was just playing.

Once in the lab, they put Kyo down and half of the students left back outside to go play. All they did was wait on the principle to get there.

"So, Kyo, what are you going to do now?" Mya asked as Kyo went on his assigned computer. He usually likes to keep up with the news.

"I don't know really. I plan to get a computer tech-worthy job."

Herbert laughed. "Well, I’m going to be a-"

"-King of fools?" Joy interrupted, smiling.

Herbert had a blank stare at that moment. He wanted to say something back-but he couldn’t think of a good way to do so.

They noticed Kyo had the headphones on so they knew he made it to the site. All of them gathered around him-still to talk, but also to pay attention.

Given a few more moments, nothing new was coming up. Cold & wet weather, petty theft, and well, nothing. Kyo turned to face the others and began to talk to them when the 'breaking news' theme blasted through his ears.

It caught a few peoples attention-everyone around Kyo, that is.

"We are sorry to interrupt previous news. A building has collapsed and it was brought to our attention that co-workers have been brutally murdered. Lets go live with Mike Ashal for all the details."

"Thank you Betty. As you can see here, the building has collapsed in a very usual way. What is left of CoCare & Supply is the lobby. If we come over here-"

Kyo's heart skipped a beat. So did Joy's. Their mothers have been working there for a long time-both helping each other getting so close to the promotion they wanted. They are also great friends-it’s how Kyo really met Joy.

"-much left to be seen. Only 3 people were able to come out unharmed. But…it is confirmed that there is over 20 deaths…"

HB and Mya looked between Joy and Kyo seeing their worrisome faces.

"-is a list of people, that couldn't make it."

It began to show pictures of the people who couldn't see the light of another day.

~+Storm Beton, Brendon Holt, David Meer, Nani Joyce, Chii Shiomi, -+~

The memory zipped past a crying Joy and a heartless Kyo to see what happened. He broke through the lines of investigation-and-

The memory stopped. Kyo looked as if he wanted to cry.

Demonica soon floated down to him and wrapped him in her cloak, comforting him and feeling his hidden pains.

She lifted her gaze towards Raku and glared. "Kyo has shown courage to relive this memory. And YOU must help him the battles ahead, Raku. I can feel his emotions towards his lost mother, and his dark father, deep beneath my cloak, inside his heart. I will come to him every night to train him if you agree to lend him your powers and keep him in control of himself as I have to my mistress. Understand?"

Raku smirked a bit. "For me to help him out he needs to endure the memory he is now trying to forget."

Kyo flinched. He doesn't want to be reminded. "…N-no"

"Yes." Raku insisted-the beginning of the other memory began.

Though…there was no need to show this memory, seeing Demonica and L.T already knew what it was really about.

Kyo's heart began to pound, but slow and weak. "S-stop…"

On the outside-as blank as Kyo seemed to look, tears began to roll down.

Raku didn't stop. And Kyo's emotions raged outwards.

"STOP!!!"

“ENOUGH!” Demonica shouted out so loudly, that even Raku flinched back at her fiercer glare, causing everything to stop.

“Demonica, I hate to say it,” L.T’s voice said. “But Raku’s right, although he didn’t need to provoke Kyo like that!”

“I do understand my mistress.”

“Kyo, listen to me, this is one of those ‘forgive and forget’ sort of things. Maybe if you forgive Catrina, you’ll be strong enough to forget this recent memory completely as well as explain to her why you took the ring from her in the first place.”

“In addition, the training will become easier from there and Raku will be tamed enough to be like myself, understand?”

Kyo's mind snapped shut. His face wasn't visible-

And when he went to look up, his appearance changed some. His fur-especially his hair-was a bit more untamed. His eyes were red; one darker than the other. His fangs and claws were unsheathed.

"Forgive." he said weakly. Forgive for what?

He wanted to, but he gave more than his life away.

"Forgive...?"

The second time was in a bit more intense and questioning tone of disbelief. He always forgives others for the wrongdoings. Vincent and his snide remarks about his life and his mother, Zero for his continuous taunting and familiar torture. He's unbelievably nice and caring to others, for a huge scar in his tail end.

“Yes, forgive,” said a voice that sounded like both L.T’s and Demonica’s voices at once.

“I’m seeing more of your pains,” Demonica’s voice continued on her own. “Vincent’s taunts, the scar, and of course, your lost love. Not only must you forgive others, but find the strength inside to sometimes forgive yourself.”

L.T’s voice soon came, “I can see what you can become and I understand what you’re going through! Kyo you are not weak or a monster! A REAL monster doesn’t forgive a single person and continues his pain until it kills him in the end. You aren’t like that at all! All you need is forgiveness to others, yourself, and from others to you! Then hopefully we can stand a stronger chance against Zero!”

There was a pause before they both added, “I’m sure your mother will appreciate it if you do if she was still alive.”

Kyo knew most of the things Demonica and L.T said.

But he didn't expect the last thing they said; it completely caught him off guard. He knew it was true.

He had to stop and control his emotions. He HAD to. For the first time in many years, he cried. Not just tears alone…

L.T saw his tears and she already had an idea what was happening; Kyo was starting to get stronger, slowly. She called Demonica back and got him back to reality, walking up to him and comforting him as he slowly changed back to normal.

She also felt tears come from her eyes, feeling sympathy towards the poor wolf, knowing that this is only the first step to his true change for the better.

He sobbed for a bit longer before saying

"H-how about we get back to the training...?"

Kyo's heart was aching, but he wanted something else to think about. He looked a little weak emotionally, and He also lost track of what steps they were on-or even what they were trying to do.

"Good idea," she said calmly as she wiped the tears from her eyes, but noticed the sun was high in the sky and her stomach was empty when it growled.

"But let's say we have lunch first then I try to defend myself against your techniques before we head back to your place for the evening since you have to put up with Vincent tomorrow. I'm sure a couple of full stomachs will make us feel better after that wild emotional ride."

"Y-yeah…Why not"

Kyo made a quick fix chef salad-he hasn't had one in a long time. He made it the way his mother prepared it for him. He can remember when she was watching her weight, even when she wasn't big or gaining any. It brought a small smile to his face of little memories like that.

Using the remaining lunchmeat he had, he finished off preparing the salads. He used spinach leaves for a change-they need the nutrition and energy for their final training exercise.

While lunch was being made, L.T practiced her spell casting forms-without actually casting spells-so she can stay in practice. Since she hasn’t officially transformed into Demonica, her powers were still at full strength and she felt ready for what Kyo could dish out to her in the training.

Kyo handed L.T a decent plateful of salad. "Sorry...don't have any bowls..."

He ate to himself, keeping quiet. He didn't want to talk much yet, but then again who WOULD be able to after something so traumatizing? What was different was that Kyo didn't keep too far from LT. He knew she wasn't going to pester him or anything.

He just has to get his mind straight once more.

“That’s O.K, Kyo,” she said calmly and as she ate, her mind went off to someone in particular.

Someone she loved and that was Firestorm. She couldn’t stop thinking of him after what she had experienced and worried that a certain hothead will try to steal him from her while she was away. She shook her head from that thought and instinctively touched the earring on her left ear. That wouldn’t happen in a million years!

Kyo finished his salad and was surprised to see he felt up to himself. He stood up in determination-but then glanced down at L.T.

"Is something wrong?" he said, frowning.

She looked up at him, put down her hand, and smiled, “Not really. I’m just thinking of someone I love, that’s all.”

She finished her salad, got up and stretched before asking, “So, are you ready to dish out some moves to me?”

"Sure am!" Kyo smiled.

Then he thought what he said over. "I-I don’t mean to intentionally hurt you or anything!"

With a nervous smile he walked out to the field and readied himself. He started to show a very, very light-blue, nearly invisible aura to focus the power on combination moves ahead of time.

"Get ready LT, because here I come!"

L.T took out her staff and replied, “I’m ready! Give me what you’ve got!”

Kyo ran and spring-jumped (water push off basically) High above LT, sending water slashes, spheres, and well coordinated Ribbons down to her. He's starting off with more than a warm-up because he already knows LT has potential.

But when he turns it up a notch it’s going to be something he needs to watch.

Light Trainer did a lot of jumps, dodges and shields to avoid and protect her. She even did a few water shield counters to keep her cool and looked up at Kyo silently telling him to kick it up a level.

Kyo continued to improve and boost his strength and speed per round. His aura boosted to a more visible and power state-even the clouds were starting to get stirred from above. He was about to show the real potential of his moves…but he wasn't ready to show his full potential yet.

L.T looked up at the clouds as she dodged and defended against every attack, thinking, *What is Kyo up to? Is things about to get interesting or what?*

It started to sprinkle... then rain, eventually stormed. This enhanced Kyo's powers. He also controlled the water on the ground to slow LT down. With an instant the whole battlefield was now at Kyo's control.

It became to Kyo’s advantage...

But he wasn't ready to unleash the last stage yet.

To turn everything up a notch, Whirlpools were stationed around the field, and Kyo did NOT hesitate to continue attacks- near his full inputted power to each manipulation.

L.T did her best to keep her balance and avoid the attacks, but inside she felt like she finally got a challenge in Kyo. She soon slipped onto the mud, but her fox-like quickness got her back on her feet and she put up another thick shield and prepared for his next attack before she can call it off and they can go home.

Kyo held his most powerful weapon back.

Time to unleash it-Purification.

All the water turned very clear-perfectly transparent. The water could not be stopped with any other water moves but Kyo.

He used his most powerful and effective attacks, even tornadoes started appearing in the battlefield.

*Uh-oh…* L.T thought as she saw the water purified. She heard of this and there was one teensy-weensy little problem, no Spellcaster can counter it. *This is NOT good.*

She dodged and defended to the best to her abilities and soon she saw that twilight was coming at the corner of her eye and shouted, “HEY KYO, THAT’S ENOUGH! IF WE NEED TO GET BECK TO TOWN IN GOOD TIME, WE SHOULD PACK UP NOW!”

The water resided-and went in the ground and air. One thing about letting purified water go back in the air, especially with someone who has a pure heart rather than an evil one…the water tends to rejuvenate everyone’s energy rather than take it right out.

Kyo let the final binds and strands of water go.

Sadly, he was completely drained so he fell from the air.

“By Kitsuno!” L.T shouted as he fell and used a wind spell to help slow his decent and keep him from hurting himself.

When he was on the ground, she ran up to him and said, “Are you O.K, Kyo?”

"Yeah...I'm OK but...tired..."

“O.K. Just rest then, I’ll handle packing up the campsite and everything.”

Using her magic, she managed to get everything packed up and the barrier put down, making the field seem like they‘ve never been there at all. She also looked towards the setting sun and took out a special key from one of her side pockets, muttered something under her breath, and the two of them, as well as the gear, transported back to Kyo’s home where she, with quite a bit of effort, managed to get him to his bed where he slept so he can be rested for the next day.
